Clinical Lead Occupational Therapist – Neonatal Care and Early Years
Hywel Dda University Health Board is looking to appoint an innovative, proactive and compassionate Occupational Therapist to join our Neonatal Service.
The successful candidate will be based at Glangwili General Hospital, Carmarthenshire, and will provide community follow‑up across the Health Board as required.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver high‑quality, evidence‑based occupational therapy to babies and parents following the neonatal pathway.
* Lead on Family Integrated Care and participate in multi‑disciplinary ward rounds and neonatal clinics.
* Complete specialist assessments jointly with other members of the neonatal therapy team.
* Liaise with other neonatal occupational therapists and allied health professionals across Wales and the UK for service development, clinical governance and improvement of practice.
* Offer training and support to the wider occupational therapy service for children and young people.
* Supervise staff and provide clinical placements to support the development of occupational therapy students in Wales.
* Travel across the Health Board footprint with mileage allowance payable.
Qualifications and Experience
* Occupational Therapist with demonstrable experience in the neonatal pathway or paediatric occupational therapy.
* Appreciation of and ability to work within family‑integrated care frameworks.
* Strong communication skills; Welsh language proficiency is desirable but not mandatory.
