Shape the Future of Healthcare Decision-Making

The Peninsula Technology Assessment Group (PenTAG) at the University of Exeter is seeking a Senior Research Fellow (SRF) or Postdoctoral Research Fellow (PDRF) in Health Technology Assessment (Health Economics). If you're passionate about influencing high-profile healthcare decisions and driving impactful research, this is your chance to make a difference!

The Role

Within a multidisciplinary team, you’ll play a key role in evaluating health technologies (medicines, medical devices, diagnostics) for the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) and other leading agencies. Depending on your level you will:

* PDRF: Lead cost-effectiveness evaluations, develop de novo economic models and new methods.
* SRF: As above with significant leadership, project and line management responsibilities including training and development of staff to support career progression

This is a full-time post from 1st September 2025 on a fixed-term basis until 31st March 2027.

Full details on both positions can be found within the Job Descriptions.

What We Offer

* A diverse and impactful project workload, shaping real-world healthcare policies.
* On-the-job training to develop world-class expertise in health economics.
* A collaborative, supportive research environment with opportunities for career progression.
* Flexible working arrangements: office-based, hybrid, and part-time options available on a case-by-case basis.
* Sector-leading benefits, including up to 26 weeks full maternity/adoption/shared parental leave and up to 6 weeks paternity leave.
* If you don’t have a PhD, your publications could form the basis of a PhD by publication.
* Work in the stunning surroundings of Devon, home to one of the UK’s fastest-growing tech hubs!

About You

We're looking for someone with:

* A strong background in health economic modelling and cost-effectiveness analysis.
* Experience in HTA and economic evaluations (experience leading evaluations desirable for PDRF and essential for SRF level).
* A passion for research that directly influences policy and decision-making.
