The Vacancy
Scot JCB are looking for a plant/agricultural engineer to join our team, based in or around the Caithness area.
This is a field-based role where you will travel from your home directly to our customers sites, so we are looking for a confident and independent individual with a strong background in the repair and maintenance of plant machinery. Overnight stays on Orkney and other remote locations will be required on occasion.
Salary: Competitive base rate plus regular overtime and company bonus.

Key Duties And Responsibilities
Repairing and maintaining machines on customers sites as required to ensure conformance with manufacturer's specification
Accurately completing all relevant paperwork daily on a phone or tablet
Submitting daily timesheets and job cards
Accurately ordering your parts and working closely with the parts department
Working closely with the service supervisor
Ensuring that there is no deficiency or defect likely to affect the safe working of a machine – and notifying appropriate manager of any defective or unsafe equipment
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
Relevant experience and qualifications e.g. City and Guild, NVQ or SVQ qualifications in Construction Plant Maintenance/Land-based engineering
Experience in construction plant or agricultural machinery, diesel engines, electrics, hydraulics, transmissions, and fault finding using electronic diagnostic equipment
The ability to prioritise tasks and work well in a busy environment
Great customer service skills and the ability to build rapport with our customers
Good IT skills
A flexible and positive outlook with an outgoing approach to work
