We're looking for a Head Chef for the Greyhound in Carshalton - a pub proud to sit at the centre of the community. Our food offer focuses on elevating traditional pub classics, firm favourites, and comfort food using fresh, seasonal ingredients. We're seeking a people-focused Head Chef passionate about developing their team and experienced in working in a 100% fresh food kitchen. Volume experience is essential as we are a popular destination for locals and overnight guests, offering al fresco dining, Sunday roasts, and celebrations. You will manage all aspects of kitchen operations and be the creative force behind the menu, crafting recipes aligned with our food vision.

The Greyhound Pub & Hotel has stood overlooking Carshalton Ponds since the 1700s. Features include a pond view Swan Dining Room, dog-friendly bar, lively garden with heated huts, 19 classic rooms, 2 boutique rooms with pond views, on-site parking, and easy access to London Victoria via a 7-minute walk from Carshalton train station. We offer a friendly atmosphere for drinks, meals, and stays.

What we look for in a Head Chef:
This role requires someone who can inspire and lead a team by example, develop, cost, and produce fresh seasonal menus for various revenue streams.
* Experience championing excellent service through quality food, as a Head Chef or Sous Chef
* Passion for leading and developing a team
* Hands-on team player with excellent communication skills
* Responsible for managing kitchen staff rota, training, and health & safety
* Creative ability to design and introduce new dishes and specials
* Strong planning and organizational skills to control GP and labour
* Proactive in driving sales and growth through engagement with kitchen and front-of-house teams
