Location & Hours
Location: Burley
Hours: 16 hours per week
Shift Pattern: Tuesday 12:00‑22:00 and Sunday 11:00‑17:00
Hourly Rate:£13.54
Responsibilities
* Patrol the shop floor and deter criminal activity
* Assess and identify vulnerabilities, working proactively to minimise risk
* Liaise with management and local authorities when applicable
* Manage vulnerable persons with empathy to avoid distress
* Complete colleague and contractor searches when required, in line with customer policy
* Digitally report incidents and use tablets/phones for daily activity planning
* Provide detailed, legible incident reports to assist the client and local authorities
Requirements & Qualifications
To be an effective Security Officer, you will need to be a confident communicator who can provide detailed verbal and written accounts of criminal activity. You should be welcoming, patient with customers, and able to handle conflict professionally.
* Valid SIA Guarding or SIA Door Supervisor licence (current)
* Previous experience in a retail security role is an advantage but not essential; full training will be provided
* Full 5‑year checkable work or back‑to‑school history
* Right to work in the UK and recent proof of address
