Reports To
The Senior Paralegal reports to the Operations Manager and will lead a new dedicated Legal & Compliance team, working alongside an existing Paralegal.

Job Overview
This new full-time Senior Paralegal position has been created to strengthen Pure's in-house legal and compliance capability. The Senior Paralegal will take responsibility for proactively managing customer non-payment legal cases, developing and overseeing legal processes, and acting as a senior point of contact for high-level complaints and complex issues.
In addition to their own casework, they will play a key role in mentoring colleagues, reporting to the Senior Management Team (SMT), presenting to the Board of Directors (BoD) and contributing to the continuous improvement of compliance across the business.
Key Duties
· Proactively manage legal non-payment cases, ensuring timely and appropriate resolution.
· Report to and update SMT/BOD on performance, key cases and issues, including outlining risks, options, and recommendations.
· Mentor and support other team members involved in legal cases, providing guidance and ensuring correct processes are followed.
· Manage, develop, and refine legal and compliance processes to ensure ongoing best practice.
· Handle high-level and escalated customer complaints with professionalism and sensitivity.
· Undertake other legal and compliance duties as required by the business.
· Other ad-hoc business activities as and when required.

Key Requirements
· Strong ability to manage and prioritise workloads across multiple complex cases.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present clear updates to senior stakeholders.
· Experience mentoring or supporting colleagues in a legal or compliance environment.
· Ability to handle high-level and sensitive complaints effectively.
· High standards of professionalism, courtesy, and personal integrity.
· Attention to detail and a methodical, process-driven approach.
Desirable Skills/Experience
· Law Degree, Graduate Diploma in Law, or equivalent qualification.
· Previous experience as a Senior Paralegal, Team Leader, or equivalent role.
· Professional legal experience, ideally in utilities, commercial law, or compliance.
· Knowledge of Scottish court processes.
· Previous utility industry experience.

· Base starting salary between £28,000 – £32,000 per annum.
