Science Teacher
Prospero Teaching is working with a secondary school in the Basingstoke area to recruit a qualified and enthusiastic Science Teacher (QTS) for a September start. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a supportive department within a well‑established school, where you can deliver engaging Science lessons and contribute to strong student outcomes.
You will be responsible for teaching Science across KS3 and KS4, supporting pupils of mixed abilities, and taking on full teaching responsibilities including planning, assessment, and classroom management. The school welcomes applications from specialists in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or Combined Science, as well as both experienced teachers and confident ECTs.
The Role:
Teach Science across KS3 and KS4
Deliver engaging lessons in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or Combined Science
Plan, prepare, and deliver structured lessons
Mark work and assess student progress
Support pupils of varying abilities to achieve strong outcomes
Maintain high expectations for behaviour and engagement
Contribute to departmental planning and collaboration
Follow safeguarding and school policies consistently
Ideal Candidate:
Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Strong subject knowledge in Science
Experience teaching at secondary level
Confident classroom practitioner
Effective behaviour management skills
Organised and committed to delivering high standards
Suitable for experienced teachers and ECTs

Position: Science Teacher (QTS)
Location: Basingstoke
Start Date: September
Working Pattern: Full‑time
Pay Rate: £32,916 - £51,047 per annum (M1-U3)
Key Stages: KS3-KS4
Experience, Training & Safeguarding:
QTS required
Secondary Science teaching experience preferred
Safeguarding training can be provided
