We’re looking for an experienced Electrical & Automation Engineer to play a vital role in keeping production running smoothly and efficiently for a forward-thinking manufacturer in the food production sector, known for innovation, efficiency, and a commitment to quality.

You’ll work as part of a collaborative maintenance team, focusing on diagnosing faults, implementing planned maintenance, and supporting automation systems across a modern food manufacturing site.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone with strong electrical and PLC expertise who enjoys problem-solving and thrives in a fast-paced production environment.

Key Responsibilities:

* Assist in the design, programming, testing, and commissioning of automation systems, including PLCs, HMIs, servo drives, and SCADA.
* Provide technical support and troubleshooting for control systems and electrical faults on site.
* Work collaboratively with mechanical engineers as part of a multi-skilled team, supporting disciplines when needed.
* Deliver planned and reactive maintenance to reduce downtime and improve equipment efficiency.
* Monitor and assess system performance, recommending upgrades or improvements where applicable.
* Keep accurate and up-to-date records of all electrical and automation systems.
* Get involved in Capex projects and site-wide continuous improvement initiatives.
* Ensure all work comply with health, safety, and hygiene standards in a food production environment.
* Complete daily checks and planned preventive maintenance (PPM) tasks in a timely, thorough manner.
* Use the CMMS system to log work orders, maintenance history, and manage spare parts.
* Contribute to training others and identify personal development needs.
* Maintain tools and equipment in a safe and serviceable condition.
* Carry out other duties aligned with team and project objectives as required.

What We’re Looking For:

* At least 5 years’ experience working as an electrician in a fast-paced manufacturing or production environment.
* Strong hands-on experience with Siemens PLCs, including programming, fault finding, and system troubleshooting.
* Solid understanding of industrial electrical systems, including motors, circuits, and control panels.
* Experience within a food manufacturing setting.
* Familiarity with mechanical handling systems such as conveyors, elevators, and milling equipment.

Education & Qualifications:

* NVQ Level 3 (or international equivalent) in Electrical Installation or Maintenance.
* Further automation or mechatronics training would be advantageous.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a highly skilled, supportive team in a role where you’ll have autonomy, variety, and plenty of room for development.
