TIG Welder
We are currently hiring Welders for an industry leader in UK’s Building Services sector, specialising in the manufacture of offsite-prefabricated building service solutions for projects throughout the UK & Europe.
Hours: Monday-Thursday 07:00-16:30 Friday 07:00-13:30 (40 hours)
Rate/Salary: Competitive rates DOE

Job Summary:
To weld a range of pipe configurations and utilise various methods of welding, the ability to produce welds in TIG, MMA or MAG to a high standard will be required. This opportunity has the potential for successful candidates to develop and retain further skills within numerous welding, fabrication, and preparation disciplines, working from in-house welding and inspection procedures for fabrication and welding.
Key Responsibilities:
* Take direction from Site Supervisor on work requirements.
* Read and fully understand the pipe fabrication drawings for each project.
* TIG Weld pipe sets for various pipe diameters (typically carbon steel & stainless-steel pipe ranging from 65mm – 500mm) from shop drawings.
* Ensure company welding procedures are adhered to and pipe preparation and fit up is carried out to the correct standard.
* Always maintain a good working relationship with colleagues, whilst maintaining a high level of productivity.
* To undertake training in line with company standards.
* Liaise regularly with Quality Control regarding any defects and any non-conformances.
* Complete Cross Training in various welding activities, so cover can be provided when absences occur in the Welding Department.
* Ensure Company H&S Processes followed.
* Ensuring allocated work progresses in a timely manner and in accordance with workload and specifications.
* To operate TIG welding equipment.
* Use precision measurement instruments.
* Use of metal cutting and grinding equipment.
* Responsible for highlighting any faults or damage to the machine and its tooling.
* Clean tools, equipment, and work areas.
* Set an example to all personnel when on site.
* Any other duties deemed necessary by management.
Requirements:
Essential:
* Previous experience in Fabrication and welding with general and pipe welding.
* Previous experience in welding preparation and fit up.
* Previous experience in MMA, MAG or TIG welding processes to high standards.
* Experience in reading, interpreting, and working to Welding procedures.
* Competent using measurement instruments, Fillet gauges etc.
* Excellent attention to detail and quality.
* Ability to manage workload to meet project deadlines.
* The ability to use your own initiative on projects with minimal supervision.
Desirable:
* Heavy or structural Fabrication experience.
* Welding qualifications in MMA, MAG or TIG.
* Abrasive wheel training.
