London Fire Brigade (LFB) is London’s Fire and Rescue Service – one of the largest firefighting and rescue organisations in the world. We are here to make London a safer city.
We employ over 5,500 people, across our operational team (our firefighters), control (our call handlers who answer your 999 calls) and our non-operational team (our teams who work behind the scenes to support our front-line services, including HR, IT, Finance, Procurement, Communications etc.).
An exciting vacancy has arisen at the LFB for an Assistant Project Manager to work within the New Headquarters Project Team which forms part of LFB’s Property Department and is responsible for delivering new headquarters accommodation beyond the expiry of the lease for the current premises in 2027.
Role Overview
As an Assistant Project Manager within the LFB New HQ Project Team, you will play a pivotal role in delivering a building project which provides a modern workplace for LFB supporting project objectives and LFB values. A key part of the role will be to assist and support in managing a smooth transition to the new accommodation.
This role will be key to delivery of an accommodation solution that fully meets LFB’s requirements.
Responsibilities

• Project Management: Work with the project team to manage the project including project planning, reporting, governance, finance, risk, and interdependencies.
• Workstream Progress: Facilitate workstream progress from initiation to completion.
• Leadership and Resource Management: Lead the project support team and optimise resource utilisation.
• Benefits Identification: Assist in identifying project benefits.
• Requirements Gathering: Aid in gathering business requirements.
• Change Management: Collaborate on effective change management processes.
