An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Nurse Associate in Diabetes, Band
4. This role is to work in the diabetes specialist nurse team based on Aintree Hospital site assisting in the delivery of treatment, education and care for people with diabetes and their families.

The Nurse Associate will deliver high quality, compassionate care under the direction of a Registered Nurse (or other registered care professional dependent on setting) with a focus on promoting health and independence.

The post holder will carry out specific delegated clinical and care tasks and responsibilities to a high standard and competency, under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse or other registered health care professional dependent on setting.

The Nurse Associate will ensure effective communication with patients, carers, multidisciplinary team and the wider health and social care community.

The post holder will have successfully completed the 2 year Trainee Nursing Associate training programme, which includes the attainment of a Foundation Degree equivalent qualification.

The post holder will work in the diabetes specialist nurse team based on Aintree Hospital site assisting in the delivery of treatment, education and care for people with diabetes and their families.

The role includes working with the Diabetes Specialist nurses across a variety of clinical areas including the diabetes centre, inpatient wards and the Antenatal clinic The Nurse Associate will ensure effective communication with patients, carers, multidisciplinary team and the wider health and social care community.

The Royal Liverpool University Hospitalis the largest hospital in the country to provide inpatients with 100% single en-suite bedrooms and mainly focuses on complex planned care and specialist services.

The post holder will have successfully completed the 2 year Trainee Nursing Associate training programme, which includes the attainment of a Foundation Degree equivalent qualification.

They will have developed and will maintain knowledge, skills, and competencies related to the role of Nursing Associate within the service through completion of the Nursing Associate training programme which includes working in care settings and delivery of person-centred care.

The Nursing Associate training programme combined and integrated both academic and work based learning through close collaboration between employers and education providers.

The Nursing Associate will be equipped with the knowledge, understanding, skills, attitudes and behaviours relevant to employment as a Nursing Associate and will work to a nationally recognised code of conduct.

The Nursing Associate role focuses on the life-course (pre conception to end of life) approaches towards health and well-being and the ways in which they actively contribute to the delivery of holistic care.

Holistic care, across life-course is a whole-person centered approach which considers, and equally values physical, psychological and public health needs, learning disabilities, social, economic, spiritual and other factors in the assessing, planning and delivery of care.
