Lead Practitioner of Maths
Location: Merton (London)
Start date: September 2026. Type: Full‑time, Permanent.
Salary: £50,000 – £85,000 (Lead Practitioner Scale).
Responsibilities
* Raise attainment and quality of learning across KS3‑KS4; KS5 is an additional option.
* Work alongside and support a strong Head of Department.
* Lead the Maths department, modelling enthusiasm and passion for maths.
* Collaborate with the Senior Leadership Team to implement and support curriculum improvements.
* Lead from the front in teaching and assessment practice.
* Drive continuous professional development of colleagues.
Person Specification
* UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) required.
* Strong teaching record with evidence of outstanding classroom practice.
* Passion for maths and commitment to raising student achievement.
* Willingness to lead new initiatives and support colleagues.
* Display high standards for yourself and others.
* Recent lesson observation assessments of “Outstanding” or “Good.”
