Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust is seeking a dedicated Clinical Practice Educator to join our dynamic team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping the clinical skills and knowledge of our multidisciplinary team, ensuring the highest standards of patient care.
As a Clinical Practice Educator, you will be responsible for the training, coaching, and support of all staff within neuro rehabilitation and neurosciences. You will spend 60‑80% of your working week clinically coaching, providing hands‑on support and supervision to enhance clinical practice. You are expected to demonstrate safe, evidence‑based practice while supporting the Neurosciences Directorate's education programme by delivering training that meets the identified needs outlined in the training needs analysis for all clinicians.
Your role will include providing academic support for staff undertaking study, developing and reviewing orientation and development programmes in collaboration with ward managers and training leads, and implementing innovative teaching and training initiatives. You will also maintain an accurate database of staff training and development, performing annual training needs analyses to ensure education targets are met.
Main duties of the job
* Deliver clinical coaching and supervision underpinned by specialist knowledge and practical experience.
* Develop, plan, deliver, and evaluate teaching and training programmes for the service.
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to promote audit and quality initiatives and contribute to policy and guideline development.
* Facilitate education audits to maintain a learning‑conducive clinical environment for both pre‑ and post‑registration placements.
* Independent running of the Neuro rehabilitation education programme.
* Maintain up to date academic credibility and support staff in their professional development including staff who are experiencing challenges to meet clinical competency standard.

Person Specification
* Registered Nurse
* Degree in Nursing or relevant subject (UK academic level 6 equivalent)
* Post registration qualification in neuro rehabilitation or neurosciences including Stroke/Spinal cord injuries neurosciences (UK academic level 6 or 7 equivalent)
* Mentorship in Practice or equivalent/ NMC Supervisor and Assessor Training
* ALS Provider
* Management of Tracheostomy patients
* Good understanding of neuro rehab discharge process and neuro rehabilitation tools
Experience
* Self motivated, with drive and initiative and able to work autonomously and within a team
* Problem solving and task analysis
* Experience of managing change
* Auditing clinical standards
* Awareness of different management, leadership, cultures and personalities and recognises the need to adapt communication as appropriate

Skills/knowledge/abilities
* Extensive recent varied experience in speciality in neurosciences and neuro rehabilitation
