Job Overview
We are looking to appoint a BACP or UKCP registered School Counsellor to lead the provision of a high-quality counselling service to students aged 4-18. Working with a part-time Counsellor and our pastoral teams to ensure the well-being of students, you will provide support, guidance and advice to members of staff, parents and carers. As a qualified counsellor, you will have a proven ability to communicate effectively with adults, children and young people and share the College’s commitment to safeguarding pupils. An understanding of child adolescent development and youth mental health interventions are essential.
We require a willingness to participate in the broader life of the College and be in sympathy with its Catholic ethos. In return we offer an attractive salary and benefits package including a fee remission for the children of staff educated at the college, free lunches, car parking, use of the Fitness Suite, support with continuing professional development and cycle to work and tech schemes.
St Columba’s College is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. All post holders will be required to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the role, including reference checks with past employers, online background checks, and the Disclosure & Barring Service.
