Job Title: Shop Supervisor Location: Nisa Local, Witham Company: Home Needs Express Salary: £32,000 – £34,000 per annum Job Overview Home Needs Express is seeking a reliable and motivated Shop Supervisor to join our busy Nisa Local convenience store in Witham. This role involves supporting the day-to-day running of the store, supervising staff, maintaining excellent customer service standards, and ensuring smooth store operations. The successful candidate will play a key role in driving sales, maintaining stock levels, and ensuring compliance with company procedures. Responsibilities * Supervise daily store operations and support the management team * Lead and motivate staff during shifts to achieve high performance * Ensure excellent customer service is delivered at all times * Assist with stock control, replenishment, and merchandising * Maintain store cleanliness, presentation, and product displays * Support cash handling, till operations, and end-of-day procedures * Handle customer queries, complaints, and issues professionally * Ensure compliance with health & safety, food safety, and company policies * Monitor staff attendance and punctuality during shifts * Assist with opening and closing procedures * Support training of new employees * Help achieve sales targets and minimise waste/losses Skills * Strong leadership and supervisory skills * Good communication and interpersonal abilities * Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment * Good organisational and time-management skills * Customer-focused approach * Problem-solving and decision-making skills * Basic IT and numeracy skills * Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends if required Qualifications * GCSEs or equivalent * Food Hygiene Certificate or relevant retail training preferred * Health & Safety awareness certificate desirable * Any supervisory or management-related training is an advantage Experience * Previous retail or convenience store experience preferred * Experience in a supervisory or team leader role desirable * Knowledge of stock control and cash handling * Understanding of customer service standards * Experience working in a fast-paced retail environment * Knowledge of health & safety and food hygiene standards preferred Additional Information * Full-time, permanent role * Competitive salary: £32,000 – £34,000 per annum * Opportunity for career progression within a growing business * Staff training and development provided
