Overview
As Procurement Manager, you will support the delivery of effective procurement for GRIDSERVE’s infrastructure and construction projects. Reporting to the Head of Commercial Construction, you will contribute to sourcing activities, manage supplier interactions, and help ensure timely, cost-effective procurement of goods and services aligned with project requirements.
Working closely with internal teams including project delivery, engineering, finance, legal, and operations, you will assist in maintaining procurement standards and supporting commercial goals. This is a hands-on role suited to someone with solid procurement knowledge, good commercial awareness, and a collaborative approach.
The Role
* Assist in developing and delivering procurement plans in line with GRIDSERVE’s infrastructure and commercial objectives.
* Coordinate procurement activities across categories including construction, services, and operational spend.
* Support the tender process (RFIs, RFPs), supplier assessments, and onboarding of selected vendors.
* Contribute to contract and commercial term negotiations in collaboration with legal and commercial colleagues.
* Help maintain strong supplier relationships and support regular performance reviews.
* Work with engineering, operations, finance, and legal teams to understand procurement needs and delivery timelines.
* Ensure procurement activities comply with internal governance and industry regulations.
* Maintain procurement records and documentation in Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365) and other relevant tools.
* Monitor supplier markets to stay informed on pricing trends and supply risks.
* Contribute to improvements in procurement processes, tools, and reporting.
* Support knowledge-sharing and development within the procurement function.
You’ll bring
* Demonstrated experience in procurement or supply chain roles, ideally within infrastructure, construction, energy, or a related industry.
* Familiarity with sourcing, supplier management, and contract support.
* Experience working across procurement categories such as CapEx, services, and materials.
* Understanding of ERP or procurement systems (Microsoft Dynamics 365 preferred).
* Exposure to ESG or sustainability considerations in procurement is beneficial.
* Strong organisational and communication skills with a team-oriented mindset.
* Commercial awareness with an understanding of value for money and risk.
* Analytical thinker with attention to detail and a proactive attitude.
* Capable of managing workload and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
* Comfortable engaging with suppliers and internal teams in a professional manner.
Qualifications
* Degree in Procurement, Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or similar field (or equivalent practical experience).
* Working towards or interest in CIPS qualification is desirable.
* Willingness to continue learning and developing professionally.
