Business Manager – Chartered Surveyors

Location: South West London

Contract: Full-time, Office-based

Salary: £35,000 – £45,000 (depending on experience)

About Us

We are a well-established, privately owned firm of Chartered Surveyors based in South West London, providing a comprehensive range of professional services within the residential property sector. Our clients include Private Banks, High Net Worth (HNW), and Ultra High Net Worth (UHNW) individuals.

Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced and highly organised Business Manager to oversee our business operations, enhance administrative efficiency, and support the continued development of our practice. This is a key role within a professional and fast-paced environment, offering the opportunity to contribute to the firm’s ongoing success and reputation for excellence.

Role Overview

The Business Manager will be responsible for ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of the firm, managing administrative functions, and supporting compliance, HR, and client service delivery. This position requires a proactive individual with exceptional organisational, leadership, and communication skills, capable of managing multiple priorities and maintaining the highest professional standards.

Key Responsibilities

* Oversee daily office operations to ensure the business runs efficiently and effectively.

* Lead and manage administrative staff, ensuring accuracy, professionalism, and timely delivery of client documentation and reports.

* Maintain and monitor Service Level Agreements (SLAs) to ensure consistent, high-quality service delivery.

* Support compliance with RICS standards, GDPR, health and safety, and other relevant regulatory requirements.

* Manage HR administration, including onboarding, staff training, performance reviews, and personnel records.

* Oversee financial and management reporting, providing accurate and up-to-date information to senior leadership.

* Support directors with business planning, process improvement, and project coordination.

* Foster a professional and client-focused culture, ensuring exceptional service delivery to our discerning clientele.

* Liaise with suppliers, professional partners, and clients, maintaining strong and productive relationships.

* Handle confidential and sensitive information with absolute discretion.

* Be flexible to work additional hours where necessary to meet business and client demands.

Skills & Experience Required

* Proven management or team leadership experience within a professional services or property-based environment (Chartered Surveyors, Legal, Financial Services, etc.).

* Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise competing demands effectively.

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills; fluency in English is essential.

* High level of computer literacy, including advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).

* Confident handling numerical data and producing management reports using spreadsheets and other business tools.

* A strong sense of professionalism, discretion, and integrity when dealing with clients and colleagues.

* Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and proactive with a focus on continuous improvement.

* Experience with RICS compliance, GDPR, and business process management would be advantageous.
