Job Description
1. Raise and process purchase orders accurately and promptly.
2. Maintain and update supplier records.
3. Expedite deliveries and progress quotations.
4. Raise RFQs and monitor budgets against spend.
5. Assist in sourcing and evaluating suppliers.
6. Support the Purchasing Manager in negotiating prices and terms with suppliers.
7. Assist in managing and controlling stock/inventory levels.
8. Support the Purchasing Manager and Quality Manager in supplier audits.
9. Resolve and approve invoice queries.
The Successful Applicant
* Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
* Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with a focus on verbal communication.
* Proficient in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment.
* Flexibility to adapt to changing demands and priorities.
* Basic engineering and steel industry knowledge.
* Enthusiasm for learning and ambition to progress within the company.
* Good numeracy and literacy skills.
* Minimum of 3 years purchasing or negotiating experience.
* Ideally, CIPS Level 5 or higher qualification.
* GCSEs including Maths and English (desirable).
