Overview

Product Line Scheduling and Competency Specialist — Managing offshore drilling services personnel in the UK. Join our UK Field personnel management team!

Agile and fast-paced, we ensure drilling continues effectively, efficiently and most importantly, safely.

Role summary

As our Product Line Scheduling and Competency Specialist you will be leading the Baker Hughes drilling services field personnel, based in Aberdeen. You will form the critical interface, matching personnel to the technical expertise the job demands. You will ensure flawless execution by coordinating field personnel resources according to the activity requirements, personnel competence levels and personnel availability.


Responsibilities

* Leading the scheduling and planning of all drilling services personnel across all operations in the UK, whilst supporting the wider ENSC region.
* Assigning crews to jobs, initiating mobilisation and de-mobilisation optimising personnel utilisation whilst minimising overtime.
* Developing strategies to optimize resource allocation and ensure efficient utilisation of workforce capacity.
* Collaborating with department leads to forecast staffing needs and plan accordingly to meet project timelines and objectives.
* Providing guidance and support to managers in identifying career development opportunities for team members.
* Implementing processes for tracking and monitoring employee progress, performance and career aspirations.
* Conducting regular career development discussions with employees to identify goals, strengths, and areas for improvement.
* Designing training programs and initiatives to support employee skill development and career advancement.
* Mentoring employees, providing guidance on career paths and assisting in navigating career progression opportunities within the organization.
* Staying updated on industry trends and best practices related to workforce planning, career development and talent management.


Qualifications

* Have experience in a people management, resource allocation and succession planning role within the oil and gas sector.
* Have some knowledge of offshore operations across any product line or service i.e reservoir navigation, drilling operations, wireline, logging etc.
* Be a change agent, understanding quickly where improvements can be made.
* Have finely tuned communication skills that are adaptable to diverse team members.
* Demonstrate an aptitude for leadership and the ability to influence.
* Have a problem-solving mindset and can-do attitude.
