Execution Technology Team – Billion Dollar Hedge Fund - Associate Java Engineer
(Between £85,000 - £110,000 Base Salaries + 30% Bonus)

The Mission:
My client is one of the global leading hedge funds that is offering the right and enthusiastic candidate a stepping stone into front-office technology, through the ability to work on their world-class front-office platforms covering alpha generation, portfolio management, and trade execution, whilst interacting with end-users and cross-functional teams to ensure the platform is built to handle scale, complexity, and customization.
The Role:
Coming in as an ‘Associate Java Engineer’, you will be responsible for working on one of the most strategic projects to date (widely under wraps to the wider market), building out a next-generation, end-to-end distributed trading system from the ground up covering the fixed-income and equities remit, which is one of the firm's highest revenue-generating sectors, equating to just over $5 billion of asset revenue.
The firm is highly recognised for adopting an extreme tech-driven mentality, where they look to incorporate the latest open-source and wider technology stacks into their existing infrastructure, whilst experimenting with the latest trends on the markets to see if there is an additional benefit to be made, for instance using Generative.AI.
The core technology stack is Java, Kafka, and AWS, with small elements of UI through JavaScript / TypeScript, whilst using Python for Research and Development Infrastructure

Requirements:
* Finance Experience is a MUST.
* 2+ years of commercial experience using Java.
* Minimum 2.1 in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering (or a related subject) background.
* Strong Computer Science fundamentals are required (Such as multithreading, garbage collection, low latency, distributed systems)
