Job Description:
We are working with a charitable organisation in Canterbury looking for a Senior Communications Manager for a fixed-term contract until 31st March 2026.
Salary: £38,800-£42,800/annum (pro-rata), hybrid working, 22.5-30 hours/week. A great role for the right candidate.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
* Deliver and monitor the communications and engagement strategy.
* Develop creative campaigns to reach and influence audiences.
* Manage and support a multi-skilled communications team.
* Oversee PR activities and work with external partners.
* Protect the charity's reputation through planning and crisis communication.
* Lead publication productions, including annual reports.
* Enhance internal communications to align staff with charity priorities.
* Manage relationships with external suppliers and track project budgets.
* Collaborate with the Fundraising team to create campaign content.
* Support communication and fundraising events, including some unsocial hours.
Management Responsibilities:
* Recruit, induct, and develop staff.
* Evaluate performance and conduct regular one-to-one meetings.
* Participate in training and team development.
* Ensure team adherence to policies and procedures.
* Experience leading a charity or non-profit communications team.
* Proven success in integrated campaign development.
* Skills in planning, prioritising, and evaluating communications.
* Experience in brand development aligned with organisational goals.
* Excellent storytelling and writing skills.
* Experience handling press inquiries and managing reputation risks.
* Ability to manage senior stakeholder relationships.
