Henderson Scott Finance and Accounting are recruiting for a successful engineering and manufacturing business based in Birmingham.
I'm exclusively engaged with them in their search for a Financial Controller, this is a No2 role to the FD, and will be part of the senior finance team (progressing to FD). This role offers an exhilarating emphasis around commercial and strategic visibility and there is a requirement to bring in someone who has good all rounded financial and management accounting skills from a manufacturing industry along with team development.
The ideal candidate will bring strong manufacturing finance experience, excellent systems capability, and a proactive approach to automation and process optimisation. Qualifications are welcome but not essential.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead statutory & management accounts, forecasting, and audit preparation
* Strengthen financial controls and ensure accurate month-end / year-end reporting
* Partner closely with senior management, providing clear financial insight
* Oversee manufacturing finance: costing, variances, stock reporting, and KPIs
* Drive process improvements and support system & automation enhancements
* Build strong cross-functional relationships across engineering and operations
* Mentor and support junior members of the finance team
Ideal Candidate:
* Solid manufacturing finance experience
* Strong systems skills and interest in automation
* Excellent communication skills with senior stakeholder exposure
* Hands-on approach with a continuous improvement mindset
* Qualification ACCA, CIMA or ACA desirable but not essential
Salary: £75,000 plus bonus
