0343 - Colorectal/Stoma Care Clinical Nurse Specialist
Barnsley Hospital NHS Foundation Trust has an award-winning, well-established Stoma Care / Colorectal Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) team with a vacancy for a Band 6/7 Stoma Care / Colorectal CNS to join this dynamic team. We are looking for someone interested in developing skills in Stoma Care and Colorectal Nurse Specialism or someone who already has expertise in this area. You need to be dynamic, proactive, and a team player.
The service collaborates with the wider multidisciplinary team within the trust and with external partners, covering all aspects of stoma and colorectal care, both cancer-related and non-cancer related.
This is a full-time, Monday to Friday, permanent role based within the Trust. You will work with the existing Clinical Nurse Specialist team and support staff.
Main duties of the job
Provide high-level care in stoma and bowel management, psychological and emotional support to patients, relatives, and key workers. This includes (but is not limited to) stoma care training and support for Barnsley's patients, ward support, breaking bad news, and supporting patients and families following a cancer diagnosis. Provide care to patients and families with other bowel-related disorders.

Qualifications
* First-level registered nurse.
* Educated to degree standard.

* Non-medical prescribing.
Experience
* Extensive post-registration experience, some of which must be in a dedicated colorectal nursing environment.
* Proven track record in colorectal/stoma care nursing.
