We are currently searching for dedicated Support Workers to join our team at a supported living service nestled in the picturesque landscapes of Cumbria. As a Support Worker, you'll play a crucial role in delivering personalized care and assistance, empowering individuals to lead independent and fulfilling lives.
What sets this opportunity apart is our distinctive shift pattern: typically, you'll work from 08:00 to 22:00, with two sleep-ins per week.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Providing hands-on assistance and emotional support in daily activities like personal care, meal preparation, and household chores.
2. Fostering independence and facilitating access to community resources and events.
3. Cultivating meaningful connections with service users, families, and other stakeholders.
4. Implementing tailored care plans and support strategies aligned with individual needs and preferences.
5. Monitoring progress, addressing concerns, and documenting incidents in accordance with organizational guidelines.
Requirements:
6. Prior experience working with adults with learning disabilities and/or autism is highly valued.
7. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, enabling effective engagement with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
8. A compassionate, patient, and empathetic approach to caregiving.
9. Flexibility to accommodate various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
10. While beneficial, formal qualifications such as NVQ/QCF in Health and Social Care are not mandatory.
