* Job Title: Senior Site Reliability Engineer
* Location: Hybrid - Southampton or Sutton - 2 days a week in the office
* Salary/Rate: Up to £560 inside IR35
* Start Date: November 2025
* Job Type: 6-month contract
Company Introduction
We are looking for a Senior Site Reliability Engineer with AWS, Linux, Docker, IaC, and Monitoring (Grafana) experience to join our client, a global analytics organisation based in Southampton / Sutton (twice a week).
Required Skills / Experience
* In-depth technical knowledge of Linux, implementation of containerisation (Docker), administration, scripting in Bash.
* Strong AWS experience – working with AWS messaging services (SNS) & Kafka.
* Advanced knowledge of at least one IaC tool such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible.
* Strong experience with monitoring tools such as Grafana, Elastic, StatusCake, PagerDuty.
* Security engineering pipeline experience.
* Containerisation (Docker) on Linux.
* Good understanding of at least one high‑level programming language, i.e. Python.
* In‑depth knowledge of one or more database systems such as Postgres or SQL Server.
* Experience in explaining technical issues & updates to non‑technical people so they are easily understood.
* Experience designing, building, and maintaining high‑performance, highly available production hosting environments, preferably using AWS (VPCs, security groups, RDS, S3, EC2, ECS, EKS).
* Understanding of security engineering and security best practices.
* Advanced knowledge of configuration management tools such as Puppet and others.
* Advanced knowledge of best practices and tooling for Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD).
Job Responsibilities / Objectives
* Work as part of a cross‑functional team to best implement internal applications.
* Diagnose complex system performance problems.
* Work closely within cross‑functional teams to refine system monitoring and reporting.
* Identify and implement best practices by collaborating with other SREs and SRE teams.
* Understand Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) and its implementation methods.
* Identify and implement architectural best practices by collaborating with multiple teams and software engineers.
* Diagnose complex system problems using dumps, traces, or other diagnostics aids.
* Manage and encourage new ideas from staff to foster improvements and innovation.
Desirable Skills / Experience
* Agile Delivery.
* Understanding of Vault & Keyless.
