Requirements for the position
Coast to Country Cleaners is looking for the right person to join our Laundry Team as a Laundry Assistant. This role is ideal for a flexible and motivated individual eager to help assist in our laundry operations on a part time basis.
You are required to support the Laundry Unit Manager, in the daily operations of the laundry facility, in receiving, washing, drying, ironing and packing of client bedding bags and laundry walk-in clients. Ensuring client linens are correctly labeled and any minor repairs are carried out. Client inventories will also need to be kept up to date as new linens are provided. It is imperative that the laundry facility, staff facilities and office is kept clean and tidy at all times, weekly cleaning of these spaces is required. Support the Unit Manager, with any other tasks that may be necessary to ensure the smooth running of this operation.
Experience of working in a commercial laundry facility is preferable but not essential, as full training and support is given.
Sewing experience is preferable, but not essential.
Hours range from between 15-20 hrs a week.
Your Key Responsibilities include;
* Support the Unit Manager, with the daily operations of the laundry facility, in receiving, washing, drying, ironing and packing of client bedding bags and laundry walk-in clients;
* Ensuring our core products and equipment are topped up in the product room, with ample supplies ready for the Cleaning Team;
* Ensure ample supply of all Guest Hampers and top ups are available for our Holiday Cottage Clients;
* Ensure client inventories are kept up to date as new linens are provided
* Ensure any new linens are labelled and stored correctly
* Carry out minor sewing repairs or alterations to client linens as required
* Regular cleaning of the Laundry facility, staff kitchen, toilet and office
* Support the Unit Manager, with any other tasks that may be deemed necessary
to ensure the smooth running of this operation.
About You
The Laundry Assistant should be/have:
• Full Driving Licence with own vehicle is preferable ???
* Passionate, Personable and Professional at all times
* Reliable and punctual, with good levels of attendance
* The ability to work on their own, and as part of a team.
* A team player with good communication skills.
* Ability to prioritise a demanding workload.
* Good attention to detail.
* The ability to multi-task, ability to work on own initiative as well as part of a team
* Broad knowledge products and equipment necessary to complete your duties
* Problem solving and "get it done" attitude. Very hands on and ready to pitch in
* Strong organisational, prioritisation and communication skills, being able to
work within time constraints and prioritise tasks according to the needs of
Clients.
* Need to be physically capable of undertaking these tasks:
* Lifting multiple laundry bags per day between the laundry, boarding houses, and other school buildings.
* Carry laundry bags up and down flights of stairs as and when necessary.
