University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust
Following registration, UCLH NHS Foundation Trust offers all newly qualified midwife (NQ) practitioners the opportunity to develop their confidence and enhance their clinical skills within a supportive environment. This is facilitated through the formal Preceptorship Rotational Programme, aligned with the Capital Midwife Framework, which is regularly reviewed to ensure optimal staff development.
The post involves a 12-month rotational training covering all clinical areas of the Maternity Service, including inpatient settings (e.g., antenatal or postnatal admissions), outpatient support (antenatal care and education), and intrapartum care (assisting women during labour, birth, and immediately postpartum).
This opportunity is suitable for midwives who have recently received their NMC pin or are due to qualify from university before October 2025.
Main duties of the job
Following NMC registration, UCLH offers a yearly preceptorship programme accredited by the CapitalMidwife Framework. The rotational programme aims to build confidence and clinical skills, fostering a supportive culture aligned with Trust Values.
The programme's goal is to consolidate your training, enabling safe and effective practice as a newly qualified midwife, with a clear understanding of your responsibilities as outlined in the NMC Code.
