We’re looking for a VAT Compliance Manager to join us in Bradford.
Based in our Bradford office, you will be the Manager responsible for Tax Compliance. As the VAT Compliance Manager, you will oversee the preparation of VAT returns and submissions to Tax authorities for our clients. You will collaborate with the VAT Compliance Senior Managers to improve systems and leverage technology to provide a top-tier VAT compliance service.
The role also involves managing the transition of VAT compliance activities into Blume for future new clients.
Our team interacts with accounting, tax, legal, and treasury departments to ensure objectives are met. We serve multiple jurisdictions with complex tax rules and varying compliance obligations.
Our VAT compliance team is based in Bradford, UK, working alongside Tax colleagues in London, Denver, and Amsterdam.
What will you be doing?
* Preparing and submitting VAT returns accurately and on time, including supporting analysis for management review.
* Handling VAT accounting tasks, such as GL reconciliations, journal entries, and monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
* Maintaining and improving processes, aligning them with digital reporting requirements, and ensuring controls over VAT reporting.
* Reviewing and approving invoices from a VAT perspective.
* Driving automation projects to streamline VAT processes.
* Providing technical support and advice by analyzing tax data and reporting on compliance issues.
* Engaging with stakeholders to ensure effective and accurate reporting and understanding of business needs.
* Onboarding new entities, including non-UK entities, into the VAT compliance process.
We tend to look for people with:
* Professional accountancy or tax qualifications (ACA, ACCA, CTA, etc.), including part-qualified candidates.
* Experience in VAT return preparation, filings, and VAT accounting.
* Strong skills in Excel and financial systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP).
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Experience working in complex environments and meeting deadlines.
* Ability to research and resolve complex tax issues.
