The Technical Test Analyst is responsible for the creation and execution of test plans for assigned products and will work with development to interpret specifications, requirements, and user stories to generate appropriate test criteria, ensuring that what is delivered meets the requirements. The Technical Test Analyst will identify gaps in test coverage for the entire product and generate and execute test plans as appropriate. This role will require and be expected to work on multiple projects concurrently and, therefore, be capable of prioritising workload and challenging where project delivery is at risk. Indicative Responsibilities Include: Record findings in the supplied tools and notify development of bugs/defects with varying priority and escalation as appropriate. As part of the sprint process, plan to work around the release schedule to support the regular drumbeat of release and will contribute to decisions surrounding production releases. Investigate defects by inspecting the inputs and outputs of the software, analysing log files, querying databases, and using specialised technical tools to interrogate software and varying levels. Validate bugs and defects reported by customers/helpdesk and ensure that the reported issue is valid, has complete information and has replication steps along with compiling regular test exit reports. Carry out testing on: Applications Websites APIs Databases Plan, design and execute tests verifying the output matches requirements. Plan, design, and execute tests to ensure software is performant, secure, reliable, portable, extendable, and maintainable. Plan, design, and execute tests which ensure our software is suitable for the target audience. Carefully analyse data to ensure data in matches data out. Log and track bugs and defects via DevOps in a SCRUM environment Participate in reviews with developers and software architects, applying knowledge of typical defects in the code and architecture. Owning actions, following up on actions of others Identify technical issues and escalate as appropriate. Identify and flag risks to project delivery. Analyse data feeds and API end-point outputs Prepare and execute handover activities to transition from the project phase to BAU. Identify and advise on suitable test tools and technologies. Replicate and evaluate reported bugs and defects, assess the impact, and recommend remediation priorities. Any work which is reasonably associated with the role. May be required to undertake training to learn new technologies and/or practices to support the role.
