About the Role
You will deliver 4 hours of teaching per week (ideally Tuesday or Thursday afternoon, 1pm -5pm) supporting students in:
· Exploring rehearsal techniques and performance systems.
· Applying theory to practice through experiential workshops.
· Developing performance work for specific audiences and contexts.
· Engaging with key practitioners and genres such as Naturalism, Realism, and Classical performance models.
The module culminates in a tutor-directed performance project and a filmed viva, with assessment based on practical work and a reflective creative journal. The module is assessed on a pass/fail basis, with written feedback provided. Students are expected to engage in independent research and rehearsal alongside scheduled sessions.
We're Looking For Someone Who:
· Is confident leading practical workshops and rehearsals in acting, directing, or devising.
· Has knowledge of key rehearsal systems and performance theory.
· Familiarity with practitioners such as Stanislavski, Chekhov, Meisner, and Hagen.
· Is passionate about student development and creative exploration.
· Can support students in both practical and reflective learning.
· Can support students in both practical and academic learning.
· Can foster a collaborative and inclusive studio environment.
Desirable Skills:
· Ability to guide students through text analysis and performance preparation.
· Experience with blended learning approaches (e.g. flipped lectures).
· Has experience teaching and marking at undergraduate level
