Department Of Medical Physics – Radiotherapy Physics
Are you a radiotherapy dosimetrist with a passion for delivering a high-quality radiotherapy service? Are you ready to support services within a forward-thinking and technically advanced department? If so, consider joining our excellent Radiotherapy Physics team at St Luke’s Cancer Centre.
St Luke’s Cancer Centre is committed to providing excellent patient pathways and patient-centered care. We continually evolve to reflect advances in radiotherapy technology and work closely as a multi-professional team. Our facilities include a Varian ETHOS on the Guildford site, delivering daily online adaptive radiotherapy for bladder and cervical cancers, along with four Varian Truebeams. The satellite centre in Redhill has a newly-installed Varian Halcyon, with a second ETHOS unit expected to be operational from autumn 2024; both are equipped with Align-RT surface-guidance and Hypersight advanced imaging. External beam treatment planning is conducted using the Varian Eclipse system, incorporating knowledge-based automated planning, machine learning autosegmentation, and scripting for automated workflows. All systems operate within a cloud-based Aria environment.
The role involves supporting radiotherapy physicists in the delivery of brachytherapy and radiotherapy planning services, as well as other routine technical tasks to ensure quality control of radiotherapy treatment delivery.
