Care Assistant – Ellisfields Court, Taunton, Somerset
Hourly rate: £12.39 per hour, plus up to £1.30 for evenings and weekends. Hours: 28 hours per week.
McCarthy Stone are looking for a professional Care Assistant to join the team at Ellisfields Court, a development built in 2014 comprising 58 apartments that supports independent living for the over 70s who may or may not need care.
About the role
As a Care Assistant you will provide the highest quality of individual care to our residents, enabling them to live later life well. You will deliver housekeeping and domestic support across the general estate, including apartment cleans. Duties will be varied and include supporting and encouraging residents to take part in activities that support their health and wellbeing. You will help them book appointments, arrange transport, and, where necessary, escort them on visits and assist with shopping. Every day will be diverse, and you’ll have the opportunity to use your people skills to make a real difference.
Responsibilities
* Provide individual care to residents and support their wellbeing.
* Deliver housekeeping and domestic tasks, including apartment cleans.
* Encourage residents to participate in activities that promote health and wellbeing.
* Assist with booking appointments, arranging transport, escorting visits, and shopping as needed.
* Contribute to a friendly, supportive team environment in a busy care setting.
About You
* You will be a warm, friendly individual with ideally some experience of working in a care or support environment.
* You will have a passion for making a difference to the wellbeing and happiness of older people and enjoy working as part of a team.
* You will be driven to deliver excellent customer service.
* You will want to work in the Health and Social Care sector and preferably have a QCF Health and Social Care (Adults) Level 2 qualification, although consideration will be given to a candidate with alternative qualifications and relevant experience.
