Overview
Kesgrave High School are seeking to appoint a full-time Teaching Assistant as soon as possible. This role provides support to students who may have learning, behavioural, physical or emotional difficulties, mainly based within the classroom. There may also be some small group intervention support. You will be expected to work as part of a team and contribute to the positive impact of the Learning Support Department. For suitably experienced candidates, there may be the possibility of a lead practitioner role, with a preference for candidates with experience in ELSA or other emotional literacy support.
Responsibilities
* Provide support to students who may have learning, behavioural, physical or emotional difficulties, mainly based within the classroom.
* Contribute to small group intervention where appropriate.
* Work as part of the Learning Support Department team to support pupil progress and well‑being.
* Assist with potential lead practitioner duties for suitably experienced candidates, including emphasis on emotional literacy support (ELSA).
Qualifications
* Experience in education or a relevant setting preferred.
* Desirable: experience in ELSA or other emotional literacy support.

* Hours: 30 hpw, 38 weeks per year
* Contract: Permanent
* Salary: £16,963 - £17,505 pa (£25,185-£25,989 pro rata) Lead Practitioner role £18,357 - £19,897 pa (£27,254 - £29,540 pro rata)
