Job Summary
Old Road Medical Practice is seeking a locum GP to join our team and cover current gaps in our busy rota. This ongoing position requires the candidate to be a driver with access to a vehicle for home visits and working at our branch surgery in St Osyth.
As part of our multidisciplinary team, you will have the opportunity to support and care for a diverse patient group.
Main duties of the job
1. Undertaking a variety of duties including surgery consultations, telephone consultations, home visits, signing repeat prescriptions, and handling queries, paperwork, reports, and correspondence efficiently.
2. Making professional, autonomous decisions regarding presenting medical issues, whether self-referred or referred by other healthcare workers within the organization.
3. Assessing healthcare needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems.
4. Screening patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness.
5. Providing health education.
6. Recording clear consultation notes to standard.
7. Collecting data for audits and complying with QOF requirements.
8. Delivering enhanced services.
9. Managing computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions.
10. Performing all general duties associated with a GP in primary care.

Old Road Medical Practice has been serving Clacton residents for over 40 years. Due to expansion and new working models in modern general practice, we are now looking for a Salaried GP to join us. This is an exciting time as we aim to improve access for patients via online, phone, or face-to-face appointments.

Person Specification
Experience (Essential):
* Experience in chronic disease management, primary prevention, and screening services.
* Ability to take responsibility for your career development, learning, and performance, ensuring mandatory training is up to date.
* Awareness of and compliance with practice policies and guidelines, including prescribing, confidentiality, data protection, and health and safety.
* Commitment to lifelong learning and audit for evidence-based practice.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in a confidential manner.
Qualifications (Essential):
* Fully qualified GP with GMC registration.
* Participation in annual appraisal and revalidation as appropriate.
* Registration on the NHSE medical performers list.
Additional Requirements
* Disclosure and Barring Service Check: This role is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975; a DBS check is required.
