£28,000 - £32,000pa (hourly paid - depending on experience)

Assistant Farm Construction Manager - The Job Role Details:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Farm Construction Manager to support the delivery of construction and maintenance projects across the estate. Working closely with the Construction Manager, you will assist in ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. This is a hands-on role offering excellent development opportunities, with scope to learn, lead, and take responsibility for projects and team supervision.
Key Responsibilities:
Support the maintenance of orchard structures, fencing, and general estate infrastructure
Assist with construction projects including buildings, campsites, and site works
Work to project timelines and budgets to ensure efficient delivery
Help optimise construction methods to improve efficiency and reduce costs
Support supervision and coordination of construction teams
Ensure all work meets required quality and technical specifications
Assist with crop protection systems, including installation and maintenance
Work collaboratively with other departments across the business
Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations and company policies
Provide cover for the Construction Manager when required
Essential Candidate Skills & Experience:
Practical experience in construction, agriculture, or a similar hands-on environment
Strong work ethic and willingness to work outdoors in all conditions
Good organisational skills with the ability to meet deadlines
Understanding of health & safety practices
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Proactive and adaptable approach to work
Desirable:
Experience in agricultural or estate-based construction
Basic understanding of project planning and budgeting
Previous experience supervising or supporting teams
Knowledge of orchard systems or crop protection structures
Working Hours:
Full-time role with flexibility required, including occasional weekend work depending on project demands
