Lecturer in Bricklaying
Location: Crewe
Contract: Permanent, 37 hours per week
Overview
Due to continued growth and investment within the Construction department, an opportunity has arisen for a Lecturer in Bricklaying. As part of an ongoing recruitment drive, applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis, and suitable candidates will be contacted regarding next steps.
The department delivers a range of construction programmes including Bricklaying, Plastering and Joinery, with a strong focus on practical learning to ensure students are prepared for industry.
About the Role
The successful candidate will support students in developing the skills, knowledge and behaviours required to become industry-ready. This role includes both teaching and course management responsibilities, with a focus on delivering high-quality learning experiences.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver bricklaying and construction curriculum in line with approved standards
* Lead and support students in practical learning activities
* Provide one-to-one and small group support, including for EHCP/SEND learners
* Support student progression, including induction, daily engagement and next steps
* Make effective use of learning resources to enhance student experience and employability
Candidate Requirements
* A Level 3 qualification in a construction trade (or willingness to work towards)
* Level 2 Maths and English or equivalent
* Relevant industry experience within construction
* A recognised teaching qualification (or willingness to work towards)
* Ability to deliver engaging learning and develop effective programmes
* Strong communication skills and ability to work with students, colleagues and industry stakeholders
