We are currently seeking an experienced Site Engineer to join a major tunnelling and shafts infrastructure project in Liverpool. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a technically challenging scheme with an immediate start, offering a competitive daily rate on an Outside IR35 (CIS) basis. Role Overview As Site Engineer, you will play a key role in the successful delivery of tunnel and shaft construction works. You will be responsible for accurate setting out, quality control, and technical support to site operations, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently, and to specification. Key Responsibilities * Setting out for tunnels and shafts, including lines, levels, and reference points * Setting out and checking FRC (Fibre Reinforced Concrete) works * Carrying out and overseeing surveying activities, including as-built surveys * Maintaining and managing survey control networks * Interpreting drawings, specifications, and method statements * Ensuring works are completed in accordance with design and quality standards * Liaising with site management, subcontractors, and design teams * Producing accurate site records, reports, and QA documentation * Supporting health, safety, and environmental compliance on site Requirements * Proven experience as a Site Engineer on tunnelling, shafts, or heavy civil engineering projects * Strong background in setting out and engineering control * Demonstrable experience working with FRC concrete * Competent in surveying techniques and use of equipment (Total Station, GPS, etc.) * Ability to work independently and manage technical challenges on site * Valid CSCS card * Right to work in the UK What’s on Offer * £300 – £390 per day, dependent on experience * Outside IR35 – CIS engagement * 6-month contract with potential for extension * Immediate start on a high-profile infrastructure project If this is something that interests you please apply and someone from the team will be in touch
