Overview
The Hire Coordinator will be based in our Basingstoke office, working within the company’s Hire Team. The role involves two primary areas of activity:
1. Providing support to members of the hire team, assisting in the planning, coordination, and delivery of a broad range of hires.
2. Efficiently responding to rental enquiries from the company’s clients, handling incoming inquiries, and developing customer satisfaction & relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
* Handle rental enquiries for dry-hire and trade-rental clients. Process client requests and issue quotations / order confirmations efficiently.
* Identify, locate, and negotiate prices for orders requiring sub-hired equipment from the company’s suppliers for specific projects.
* Prepare all paperwork and keep job files for each project updated and accessible for team members.
* Manage and build relationships with existing hire clients.
* Identify and locate potential hire opportunities for TSL, providing information to the reporting line manager.
* Manage project changes and customer confirmations, and collate and report all charges to be invoiced.
* Communicate with customers to resolve invoice/payment queries related to hires and projects.
* Coordinate with suppliers to resolve purchase invoice discrepancies.
* Answer and handle incoming telephone enquiries professionally and courteously.
* Maintain content on the TSL website related to the hire department.
* Follow up promptly with customers regarding late project returns, ensuring missing items are returned or invoiced appropriately.
* Assist with the advertising and selling of ex-hire equipment.
* Participate in the company’s on-call rota system.

o Experience in technical theatre, entertainment, or events is advantageous.
o Ability to write proposals and clearly express ideas or concepts to clients or industry partners, both written and verbal.
o Numeracy skills, with the ability to use spreadsheets and IT tools to monitor budgets and profit margins.
o Fluent English speaker with strong telephone manner and spoken language skills.
o Methodical, motivated, with a passion for accuracy and excellence.
o Strong computer skills and quick learner of new programmes and procedures.
