Overview
We are seeking a reliable and dedicated Estate Operative / Cleaner to join our team at The Hamptons. You will play a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and overall appearance of the estate. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and committed to providing excellent service to our residents.
Responsibilities
* Estate Grounds:
* Inspect the estate daily, reporting any defects, security, or health and safety concerns.
* Perform thorough litter picking across the estate.
* Empty estate litter bins.
* Sweep tennis courts and the Mayflower playground (usually weekly in autumn).
* Jet wash paved parking areas, pavements, and boardwalks as needed.
* Assist with handyman jobs.
* Estate Bin Stores:
* Inspect bin stores daily and ensure they are tidy.
* Report defects, fly-tipping, or health and safety concerns.
* Take out/replace communal bins for collection and sweep out bin stores (weekly/fortnightly).
* Clean and disinfect communal bins (monthly).
* Jet wash communal bins and the bin store (quarterly or as needed).
* General Responsibilities:
* Perform duties to a shift schedule as instructed by the Estate Manager in a cheerful, collaborative, constructive, and flexible manner.
* Be respectful of residents at all times.
* Set a good example to other staff members.
* Be willing to carry out ad hoc duties as requested by the Estate Manager.
* Report any defect or H&S concern immediately.
* Maintain/complete all logs/reports as directed.
* Attend training courses as directed.
* Maintain a clean and tidy appearance while on duty, wearing the uniform provided.
* Adhere to conduct expectations (refrain from swearing, being under the influence, etc.).
* Be mindful of Health and Safety at all times and follow safety procedures.
Skills
* Working knowledge of Health and Safety requirements.
* Willingness to undertake further training.
* Ability to be trained in the safe use of maintenance equipment, tools, and machinery.
* Ability to manage time effectively, prioritize, and use initiative.
* Commitment to teamwork.
* Confident in lone working.
* Good communication skills.
* Ability to form positive relationships with residents, staff, and contractors.
* Willingness to be adaptable.
