We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Accommodation Officer to join our Specialist Homelessness and Housing Options Team. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a supportive and committed service delivering high‑quality housing advice and homelessness prevention.
In this varied role, you will manage a diverse private‑sector caseload, working proactively with single people and families who are at risk of homelessness. With forthcoming changes under the Renters Rights Act 2025, you will play a key part in helping households sustain their private rented accommodation and avoid crisis.
The role will work primarily alongside the Specialist Private Sector Officers. You will bring your experience of building strong, positive relationships and strengthening communication between the Borough Council and local lettings agents and landlords across Guildford and the surrounding areas. This will include arranging and attending property visits, meeting with landlords and agents, viewing available accommodation, and supporting inspections to ensure standards and suitability.
