The successful candidate will be responsible for receiving and storing cattle and sheep in accordance with animal welfare best practice guidelines.
The Role
* Unloading and transferring animals to holding pens prior to slaughter;
* Reading ear tags and allocating kill numbers;
* Checking permits and carrying out FCI and transport audits;
* Ensuring permits and information is put on to the system correctly;
* Assist with the daily cleaning schedule in Lairage;
* Maintaining Health, Safety and Hygiene Standards in accordance with company rules and regulations.
The Person
* Possess GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent);
* Previous experience in cattle and sheep handling is essential;
* Knowledge of animal welfare best practice;
* Must have the ability to work on their own initiative whilst also working as part of a team;
* IT Skills essential
