We have opportunities for a staff nurse within our endoscopy nursing team at Stepping Hill Hospital. You will be a motivated team player with a flexible attitude and be able to demonstrate commitment to your own professional development. You will be a diligent nurse and be ready to partake in the on call service.
Main duties of the job
The successful applicants will have excellent communication and decision making and reflect the Trust vision and values in their daily working lives. Staff will be required to work flexibly over the working week and you will be required to participate in the 24 hour on call rota. Stockport NHS Foundation Trust provides elective endoscopy and procedures include: Gastroscopy; Colonoscopy; flexible sigmoidoscopy; Bronchoscopy; PEG insertion/removal and ERCP.

Job description and responsibilities
The unit provides an excellent place to gain the knowledge, skills and experience at the start of your career in Endoscopy. We provide a 7 day a week emergency non-elective endoscopy service to care for urgent patients who may present through the emergency department or as inpatients, supported by a 24-hour nurse on call.
All nurses will assist the Consultants in the procedure rooms during Endoscopy procedures. Nurses will assist in the recovery of patients in a dedicated recovery area and will be trained in discharging patients safely home.

There is an opportunity to become an expert in Endoscopy and Gastroenterology nursing within our unit. The Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment and promote safeguarding by implementing the Trusts policies and procedures, acting promptly on concerns, communicating effectively and sharing information appropriately.
If successful this vacancy will require an enhanced DBS check at a cost of £54.90. This cost will be deducted from your first Trust salary. In addition, it will be a condition of employment that you join the DBS update service and pay the annual subscription fee of £16.
