What you’ll be doing: We are currently recruiting Food Handlers to support a range of food preparation and service operations across Derby. This is a flexible role offering a variety of shift patterns, with opportunities for overtime and long-term progression. As a Food Handler, you will play a key role in the preparation and handling of food, ensuring everything is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard. Here’s what you need to know before applying: Your key responsibilities will include: Preparing food items in line with recipes, guidelines, and service requirements Supporting general food preparation and handling tasks Assisting with set-up and organisation of work areas Carrying out basic checks to ensure food quality and presentation standards are met Packing, storing, and handling food items safely Labelling products where required, following simple guidelines Maintaining high standards of hygiene and food safety at all times Cleaning and sanitising work areas, utensils, and equipment Replenishing stock and assisting with deliveries as needed Working to daily schedules and supporting team targets Supporting the wider team with additional duties as required Our ideal Food Handler will: Be reliable, punctual, and a strong team player Be comfortable working in a busy, fast-paced environment Have good attention to detail and take pride in their work Be able to follow instructions and work safely at all times Show flexibility with shifts, including weekends where required Have a positive attitude and willingness to learn Previous experience in food preparation, catering, or hospitality is beneficial but not essential What we offer: Competitive pay starting from £13.45 per hour Full training and ongoing support Immediate start opportunities Access to company benefits and wellbeing support Who we are: At Compass, our people are at the heart of everything we do.
