We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Quality Engineer to join our Quality and Inspection team. In this role, you will collaborate closely with Incoming Quality Control/Outgoing Quality Control Engineers and Defect Engineers to ensure the highest standards of defect detection, classification, and resolution across our manufacturing processes.
You’ll be part of a dynamic team driving innovation in defect detection and quality assurance. After an initial training period, the working hours will be 08:00 – 16:30, Monday to Friday, working one weekend in three (with the Thursday before and Tuesday after taken in lieu of the weekend). This shift pattern involves working bank holidays and weekends as and when they fall on your working shift.

Key Responsibilities:
* Define and implement pass/fail criteria for critical defect inspections across inline, incoming, and outgoing stages.
* Defect Analysis Tool Leadership
* Develop and maintain a comprehensive defect library/catalogue.
* Update and distribute relevant documentation and specifications to production and manufacturing teams.
* Lead root cause analysis and troubleshooting for new or unidentified defects.
* Establish and promote best practices for defect inspection procedures and sampling methodologies.
* Train and support operators and technicians in defect inspection standards.
* Collaborate with Defect Engineers on both optical and SEM-based defect classification and reviews.
Key Skills & Experience required:
* Proven industrial experience in semiconductor or LED manufacturing environments.
* Comfortable working with microscopes and inspection tools in a cleanroom setting.
* Familiarity with failure analysis techniques such as FIB, SEM, and EDX.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
* Strong attention to detail and a collaborative team mindset.
Qualifications:
* Diploma or Degree in Engineering or a related field.
