We are currently recruiting for a Head of Sales to join the Scotland & North East region.

As Head of Sales, reporting to the Regional Director, you will be responsible for developing and implementing an effective regional sales strategy. This includes managing Business Development Managers & Internal Sales Managers, ensuring robust and consistent sales processes, and leading a motivated sales team focused on maximizing revenue.

This role requires an experienced and successful sales leader who can demonstrate passion, confidence, credibility, and focus in leading their teams.

You should have proven success in managing regional sales teams, experience influencing and building relationships with senior management, strong analytical skills, and the ability to translate strategic vision into action.

This role covers the Scotland & North East region, so frequent travel to depots is required.


Responsibilities Include

1. Developing and maintaining customer relationships to secure business for Nationwide Platforms.
2. Identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, including new growth sectors and customers, aligned with the business development strategy.
3. Contributing to the team’s budget planning.
4. Managing a team of sector specialists, utilizing measurement tools to improve performance.
5. Overseeing the regional sales team in managing key accounts.
6. Acting as the liaison between the UK Business Unit and BlueSky, addressing delivery, new product, and supply issues, and communicating these to relevant parties.
7. Negotiating and managing contracts at all levels for mutual benefit.
8. Collaborating with other Nationwide Platforms functions to support business development.
9. Managing risks associated with key accounts.


The Ideal Candidate Will Have/Be

* Extensive experience in strategic sales management within plant and/or equipment hire environments.
* Excellent analytical skills and data-driven decision-making abilities.
* Strong prioritization skills and ability to meet deadlines.
* Effective communication skills for upward and downward communication, capable of delivering both simple and complex messages professionally.
