Salary: £38,656-£54,022 per annum amazing benefits and working enviroment Contract: Full time, permanent Start date: 1 September 2026 (new starter induction day) We are looking for a new Year Group Leader to lead one of our year groups in primary (initially this will be in key stage 2). This will involve leading a team of teachers and teaching assistants working across 4 or 5 classes. In addition to teaching your class, you will be responsible for developing an exciting learning journey for the year group including leading on the weekly planning and organising events and trips.In addition, you will be leading your team, helping them grow and working closely with parents. This is an exciting leadership opportunity for an experienced and highly effective classroom practitioner ready to lead a year group with vision, warmth and ambition. Working closely with the Assistant Head and Senior Leadership Team, the successful candidate will drive excellence in teaching and learning, lead curriculum planning and enrichment, monitor pupil progress and champion high standards across the year group. As a key middle leader, you will line manage and develop teachers and teaching assistants, support appraisal and professional growth, lead on pastoral care and behaviour, and build strong, constructive partnerships with parents. You will play a central role in shaping the strategic direction of the Primary School while ensuring a consistent, creative and inspiring experience for every child. We are looking for a well-qualified teacher with a strong educational background and a proven track record of excellent classroom practice. You will bring experience of contributing to staff development, line managing colleagues and successfully leading a subject or key initiative. With excellent interpersonal and communication skills, you will be confident in coaching others through observation and constructive feedback, and committed to fostering a culture of high expectations and collaboration. A sound knowledge of current educational developments, assessment practice and high-quality primary pedagogy is essential, alongside a genuine commitment to safeguarding, equal opportunities and the wellbeing of every pupil.
