The Governors of this popular, happy and successful Catholic school wish to appoint an enthusiastic, organised and highly motivated Class Teacher to join our excellent team. Applications welcome from newly qualified or lower main scale teachers.
We are looking for someone who:
1. Demonstrates excellent, creative and challenging teaching which results in outstanding achievement for every pupil
2. Is a successful, creative and enthusiastic classroom practitioner with high expectations of learning and behaviour
3. Shows willingness to participate fully in the life and Catholic ethos of the school
4. Has excellent communication skills and enjoys working as part of a team.
Areas of Responsibility and Key Tasks
Planning, Teaching and Class Management, To:
5. develop a classroom environment and teaching practice which secures effective learning across the breadth of the National Curriculum including Foundation Stage
6. identify clear learning objectives, specify how these will be taught and assessed
7. set tasks which challenge pupils, and ensure high levels of interest and enjoyment, matching approach appropriately to content / learning needs
8. identify the needs of all pupils, including those with SEN / very able pupils, setting appropriate and demanding expectations for all, endeavouring to give every child the opportunity to reach their full potential
9. provide clear structures for lessons, maintaining pace, motivation and challenge;
10. make effective use of assessment, set clear targets, building on prior attainment and ensure coverage of programmes of study;
11. ensure effective teaching and best use of available time;
12. expect and ensure high standards of achievement and behaviour
13. encourage pupils to think and talk about their learning, develop self control and independence, concentrate and persevere, and listen attentively
14. encourage pupils to develop mutual respect, self-control and positive collaboration with their peers and with all adults working with them in school
15. use effective questioning, listen carefully to pupils, give attention to errors and misconceptions
Qualifications:
16. Qualified Teacher Status
17. Catholic Certificate in Religious Studies (CCRS)
Relevant Experience and knowledge:
18. Successful teaching experience in a primary school
19. Excellent understanding of effective primary pedagogy
20. Effective strategies to include and meet the needs of all pupils including those with EAL and SEN.
21. Successful experience of positive behaviour management
Skills and abilities:
22. Provide evidence of a good knowledge and understanding of the KS1 curriculum and curriculum assessment.
23. Knowledge of child development as it applies to KS1 and beyond
24. Plan, organise and resource a stimulating learning environment.
25. Work collaboratively and effectively with a team.
