Programme and Project Controls / PMO Senior Consultant (Lexica. Member of WSP)
Join WSP in the UK & Ireland as a senior consultant in Programme and Project Controls / PMO. This new role supports clients in the health and life sciences sector, helping to develop robust processes, procedures and tools for successful execution of projects, programmes, and portfolios.
A new role within our Programme, Project and Portfolio Management team. As Programme and Project Controls / PMO Senior Consultant you will be responsible for supporting clients with the development and implementation of robust processes, procedures and tools to facilitate successful execution of projects, programmes, and portfolios. Your role will also provide constructive challenge to delivery teams and undertake analysis and assurance to support client decision making. Within Lexica the role will contribute to the development of Lexica's Programme Controls and PMO service and growing the PMO business.
What We Expect From You
* Drive transparency and visibility of progress and performance across all stages of the project and programme lifecycle.
* Analyse, understand and interpret project/programme performance data to constructively challenge and/or identify trends and areas for further investigation.
* Present and communicate project/programme performance data to non‑technical stakeholders to support decision‑making at all levels.
* Oversee programme controls and reporting systems – lead set up and ongoing development of internal and external progress reporting processes and tools, including Power BI where required.
* Develop, implement and manage control processes and tools e.g. change control, reporting, risk, schedule.
* Support continuous improvement through implementing improvements to internal processes related to portfolio, programme and project management.
* Support project and/or programme governance and assurance processes.
What We Will Be Looking For You To Demonstrate
* Preferably educated to degree or equivalent level in a relevant field.
* Experience working in programme and project controls within major construction / infrastructure programmes.
* Understanding of public sector programme and project delivery environments.
* Experience of working within a consultancy and developing PMO services.
* Demonstrable experience of presenting programme performance data using digital tools including Power BI.
* Excellent communication and facilitation skills.
* Strong attention to detail and accuracy alongside excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and organisational skills. Achieved or working towards a recognised Programme Management qualification (e.g. Risk management, IRM, MoR, Price2) or Project Management qualification (e.g. APM PMQ).
