Full-Time SEN Teaching Assistant - Autism Specialist (Non-Verbal Support)
Location: North Nottingham
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM - 4:00 PM
Contract: Full-Time, Term-Time Only

The Role
We are seeking a compassionate and proactive SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team. You will work closely with teachers, therapists, and families to support pupils' learning, communication, and personal development.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide 1:1 and small group support for non-verbal children with autism.
2. Use alternative communication methods (., PECS, Makaton, AAC devices).
3. Assist with personal care and sensory needs where required.
4. Foster a calm, structured, and engaging learning environment.
5. Collaborate with the wider team to implement individual education plans (IEPs).
What We're Looking For:
6. Experience working with children with autism and/or non-verbal communication needs (preferred but not essential).
7. A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach.
8. Strong communication and teamwork skills.
9. A willingness to learn and adapt to each child's unique needs.
