Organisation England Golf (The English Golf Union LTD) Salary £0 voluntary Location England Golf, The National Golf Centre, Woodhall Spa, Lincolnshire LN10 6PU Contract type Volunteer Closing date 18 February 2026 Interview date 25 March 2026 Job Description Members of the England Golf Men’s Selection Committee are responsible for selecting players to represent England in nominated amateur team championships and within the England Men’s Squad, in line with the England Golf Selection Policy.
Key Responsibilities:
Attend pre-agreed competitions and assess performances using insight, observation and performance data
Apply and uphold the England Golf Selection Policy consistently and without bias
Work collaboratively with the Performance Manager, coaches and fellow selectors
Ensure players understand selection criteria and decision-making processes
Select teams and squads in line with policy and agreed performance objectives
Contribute to the development of a high-performance team culture
Communicate selection and non-selection decisions clearly and constructively
Provide timely feedback on players, performance and results manner.
Skills and Knowledge:
Sound knowledge of elite amateur golf
Experience in selection within golf or sport
Strong decision-making ability, fairness and accountability
Calm, measured and adaptable approach
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Confidence working with data and IT systems (e.g. spreadsheets, databases)
Understanding of data protection and confidentiality
Commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion
